LAUDE Classic Car competitors have enjoyed a lengthy break, which has sincerely helped to get these old machines race-prepped and ready for their next round in the LAUDE Classic Car Championship.
Among the entries received to date are 2 old stalwarts who have decided to do it one more time. (We’ve all heard that one before). In his superb and immaculate dark racing green with the yellow stripe Anglia we will have Derek Wilsnagh making a welcomed return while another old stalwart in his thunderous black V8 monster Chev Corvette (also with yellow stripe), none other than Robin Forbes. Welcome back guys.
Entries so far are surely looking healthy and LAUDE Classic Cars is making sure that this category continues to grow which has become one of the biggest categories in the WPMC PowerSeries.
Class A will once again see the heavyweights do battle, with Franco Donadio ready to throw down the gauntlet and stamp his authority in this class.
Class B will once again see close competition between the V8 Mustang of Ferdi Mouton and the very quick V6 Capri of Trevor Momberg who may just deliver an upset this coming Saturday.
Class C is as always a full field where its anyone game so have a lookout for Brian Evans (Escort MK1), father and son, Trevor and layne Hutchings and don’t discount a determined Deon Conradie (Toyota Corolla) to be right up there.
Class D is growing and will see some nice little battles between Dave Rowley (VW Beetle), Rob Rowe (BMW 325i) and keep an eye out for a hard charging Derek Wilsnagh (Anglia).
Class E is a little thin, with hopefully a few more entries still to come but watch out for Albert Cook (Opel Kadette) taking on Melt Carstens (Cortina) and Leon van Lienden (Alfa) doing battle.
Quite a few new driver/car combinations in Class X will undoubtedly want to set a decent lap time to be allocated to their racing classes, so keep an eye out for some determined racing from the likes of Andre Fourie (Jetta), Bradley Rowe (BMW 2002ti), Robert Benekal (Escort), Stephen Manuel (Skyline), Marius Fourie (Jetta) and Jarryd Evans (V6 Capri).
Gates open early so be there to grab your favourite spot.
