PowerSeries 6 gets underway on 31 August 2024 with another great event heading towards Killarney Raceway. The LAUDE Classic Cars competitors consistently produce a healthy field of cars, and this one should be no different. Die-hard race spectators may have to brave the chilly weather, which is still in the forecast, but the upside is that it should again add some extra HP to these classic cars where no inch will be given.
While the racing will be fast up front among the class A competitors, the real race for the championship will be between Trevor Momberg (Supergas/All-Scale Capri V6) and Ferdi Mouton (Cross Cape Forklift Services Mustang V8) in class B. This class is currently the biggest class so expect some good racing from the likes of Jared Evans (Cape Eye Laser Capri V6), Brian Evans (Cape Eye Laser Escort Mk1), and Bruce Aven-Taplin (Toyota Corolla) to be at other.
A few new car/driver combinations are in the making and will be marked a class X competitors either in their first outing or for the first time in a new car. Keep and eye out for Andre Fourie (Jetta), Dawie de Beer (Escort Mk1), Jan Engelbrecht (Cortina), Charles Arton in a (Porschee 914), Jan Koekemoer (Mazda RX-7) and Robert Senekal (EMI Group Ford Escort).
